[11:52]msiism: As someone asked in here recently how to remove TDE formtheir system, I've now put together instructions on how to do that for Devuan and added them to https://wiki.trinitydesktop.org/Devuan_Trinity_Repository_Installation_Instructions
[11:53]msiism: Still need to make a few adjustments and additons. But it should basically be good to go.
[11:54]msiism: I've tested it all for the R14.0.x series. As far a sI can see, there's no reason this wouldn't work for the rolling-release packages as well.
[11:54]msiism: I'll test this shortly.
[12:01]SlavekB: I believe that the following call looks greatly simpler:
[12:01]SlavekB: aptitude purge "~i~Otrinitydesktop"
[12:02]msiism: Sure. The problem is that aptitude is not necessarily installed by default.
[12:02]msiism: Maybe people should be told to just install it.
[12:02]SlavekB: Yes, but it seems easier to install aptitude, instead of performing significantly more complex procedures.
[12:03]msiism: Okay, fait point.
[12:03]msiism: s/fait/fair
[12:03]msiism: I'll put this in my notes.
[12:04]SlavekB: I do not know whether the newer version of the "apt" tool also can use search sequences like aptitude.
[12:04]msiism: The "trinity" of Debian's package management front ends drives me crazy… ;)
[12:04]msiism: Okay, let me check that out.
[12:05]msiism: I did initially convert everything to apt-get because I wanted the commands to be consistent.
[12:05]SlavekB: Simply - it seems useful to use a more appropriate tool than to do things more complicated :)
[12:05]msiism: So, maybe it would be a good idea to convert it all to using aptitude.
[12:07]msiism: But then, I think aptitude is not recommended for full system upgrades. So we gotta use apt-get for that. Makes me dizzy…
[12:07]msiism: Okay, thanks anyway. I'll try to provide instructions using aptitude as soon as I can.
[12:08]msiism: Or, maybe just add that one right now…
[12:08]msiism: Hm… complicated. I'd rather think this through again before.
[12:12]msiism: Actually, this is about the only step where using aptitude is strictly advised. So, I'll leave it at apt-get, generally but add a not that removing everything installed from the trinity is way easier using aptitude.
[12:12]msiism: s/not/note
[12:14]msiism: Can't do that today, though. Maybe tomorrow.
