[12:32]cethyel: @Michele, I'm on sip4-tqt cmake conversion, I'll profit from the conversion to adress your bug report 2699, I intend to remane the executable tdesip, the library libtdesip and the installed header sip.h into tdesip.h, in the same time It would make sense to rename the module (sip4-tqt) tdesip
[12:33]michelec2: sounds good to me.
[13:31]cethyel: I intend to keep the WIP status on the modules sip4-tqt, tqscintilla, python-tqt, python-trinity and pytdeextensions until all of them have been converted to cmake, because they depend on each others at some point and there are to many changes; changes in the names of the libraries, executables, headers, as well as their install location. The goal is to make the whole coherent and conflict free with upstream (now as It is right now, that is...)
[13:33]Slávek: good idea
[13:36]michelec2: (y)
[13:37]Slávek: Another ghost in background is that all these modules will need to make Python3 compatible :(
[13:37]michelec2: yeah, it's time to address dropping python2
[13:38]cethyel: as soon as I can, when the cmake conv is done I'm going to remove support for the former build system (as usuall both building will remain available for a release), once this is done I'd like to regroup all of them in a single module
[13:39]cethyel: from what I see sip4-tqt has support for Python3
[13:40]michelec2: I can take up python 2 --> 3 conversion. The question is when to do it?
[13:40]michelec2: before R14.1.0? or after as part of R14.1.x? or for R14.2.0?
[13:41]cethyel: It depends of your oldest Deb/Ubuntu release, all of them have Python3?
[13:42]Slávek: Ubuntu 14.04 => python 3.4
[13:42]michelec2: py3 has been around long enough, don't worry
[13:42]Slávek: Debian 8.x => python 3.4
[13:43]cethyel: sorry old player here, Slackware-14.2 does not provide Python3, you have to install It from Slackbuilds... :-S
[13:43]Slávek: Only we must take into account that Python is very happy to be incompatible between 3.x versions...
[13:45]michelec2: it will definitely require testing well
[13:47]cethyel: I remember that Amarok have python code that does not work anymore, good luck with that and the port to Py3 :-)
[13:50]cethyel: I'm going, I have burnt all my cartridges, see you some other day!
